Business Description

Minnesota’s Only Select Registry™ Inn – for Sale!

Habberstad House Bed and Breakfast is located in Lanesboro, a destination town in Southeast Minnesota’s Root River Valley. The beautifully renovated inn offers 6 luxurious guest suites, extra-roomy owner’s quarters, excellent travel ratings and membership in the Select Registry™ collection of independent lodging properties. There’s more: Guests can walk to restaurants, art galleries, professional theater and the riverfront. Historic Lanesboro is also a hub for outdoor enthusiasts.

Habberstad House was built in 1897. Spot-on renovations began in 1996, incorporating modern systems and amenities, and adding private living space for the owners. Today it is a beautiful, practical lodging property show-casing original oak woodwork, built-ins and other architectural features. Common rooms include two parlors plus the inn’s dining room. The gourmet kitchen features oak floors, granite counter tops and top-tier appliances. 4 unique guest suites are on the second floor. The 5th, third floor, suite features knotty pine walls and soaring ceilings, plus a spa-like bathroom. In the separate Carriage House, an 1,100+ square foot suite includes a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace and a luxurious bathroom with a soaking tub and double shower. Amenities vary from suite to suite with all featuring private bathrooms, WiFi and central air conditioning. When not out exploring, guests also enjoy outdoor relaxation on the front porch and in the gardens surrounding the inn.

With a population of 750 people, Lanesboro has its own history museum, library, school district, post office, two theaters, a major arts center, a farmers’ market, river outfitters, fishing guides, independent retail shops, plenty of restaurants and two ice cream parlors.
