So, do you have a dream of owning a Bed and Breakfast, Country Inn, Lodge, Cabins, or other great hospitality property?  It’s a great dream and can be a wonderful lifestyle when you choose wisely.  Before I started to help others on the path of inn ownership I ran a successful Select Registry bed and breakfast property for over 10 years.

If you are serious about investigating your dream of being a bed and breakfast innkeeper, it is imperative that you go into the business with your eyes open, so you make the right decisions leading to a successful inn and a fulfilling personal experience.

Close to 20 aspiring innkeepers who recently attended one of my seminars

We have several aspiring innkeeper seminars to meet your needs:

  1. Virtual Seminars: The Virtual Seminar is our way of offering education during the pandemic. It is a great way to present the topics of finding, evaluating, and buying a bed and breakfast or lodging property. The day-long Virtual Seminar includes live instruction, downloadable materials, and personal follow-up consultation for anyone who attends.
  2. One Day Intensive Workshops: Limited to 8 participants and are highly individualized. Key aspects of buying and operating an inn or bed and breakfast are covered, with time spent on topics varying according to individual needs. Intensive Workshops are presented in a “round table” discussion style and include a pre-workshop survey and phone consultation, instruction, workbooks, lunch, and personal follow-up consultation.
  3. One Day Comprehensive Workshops: Include instruction, workbooks, lunch, and personalized consultation. Workshops are presented to the group in lecture style. On a fast-paced day, the key aspects of buying and operating an inn or bed and breakfast are covered. Follow up consultations are scheduled individually on a case-by-case basis.

The Virtual Seminar is being offered as an alternative to our in-person aspiring Innkeeper sessions. This session covers much of the same material as the One Day Comprehensive Seminar and will help to affirm attendees’ interest in a possible Inn purchase.  The seminar includes six hours of instruction and workbooks. Follow-up consultations can be scheduled individually on a case-by-case basis.
 
The Virtual Seminar begins at 10:00 AM ET and ends at 5:00 PM ET and will welcome attendee participation throughout the day.  There will be a 60-minute lunch break and the seminar will be recorded and sent to attendees so they can review materials in their own time.

Fees: $149.00 per device
 
Cancellation Policy: Any cancellations received with 21 or more days notice before the seminar will receive a full refund less a $25.00 cancellation service fee. Any cancellation within 21 days prior to the seminar will receive full credit for a future seminar.

Seminar participation is limited to 20 participants to ensure the appropriate level of personalized service you expect. Seminar registration is on a first come – first served basis and, should the seminar be full, we will advise you immediately and place you on a priority waitlist.

March 11 – 12, 2023 – Weekend Seminar – Asheville, NC

The weekend seminar is our premier and most in-depth future innkeeper program and allows for more face time and interaction with your instructors. The weekend seminar package includes group instruction, workbooks, personalized follow-up consultation, meals, and breaks. There is an optional wine and cheese reception on Friday evening; Dinner Saturday night will be an upscale yet relaxed affair, and you are the guests of The B&B Team® for both these events, plus your lunch on Saturday. The cost of your lodging during the seminar is additional, and we have negotiated a preferred rate for our seminar attendees.

In addition to the seminar on starting a bed and breakfast itself, as a graduate, you will be eligible for a personal, half-day planning session with one of us at our office or over the phone/video conference.

Attendees for the weekend seminars should plan on checking in as close to 4:30 PM if they plan to join us for the informal wine and cheese reception. Please plan on departing after 12:30 PM on Sunday. Click here for a seminar agenda.

Upon confirmation of your seminar registration, please make your room reservation. Each attendee is responsible for booking their room at the host inn by calling the inn (828) 654-9040. Please do not book online or through an OTA (Online Travel Agency). Tell Innkeepers or staff that you are with The B&B Team’s seminar to receive the preferred rate. We suggest attendees stay at the host Inn but you are not required to.

Fees: $375 for one person and $475.00 for two people
